What is Deliverance?

Simply stated, deliverance is setting people free from the influence of the devil and his army of fallen angels (demons). For non-believers, this may mean delivering them from demon possession. If a person is possessed their spirit is controlled by a demon. This is rare, but it does happen. Because a Christian's spirit is inhabited by the Holy Spirit they cannot be demon-possessed. However, a believer's soul can be influenced (oppressed) by demons in varying degrees. The only real power the devil and demons have in your life is deception. If they can deceive you enough that you act on that deception, your life will be negatively impacted. Demonic influence in our lives is evidenced by anxiety, chaos, depression, anger, addictions, fear, confusion, emotional numbness, hopelessness, and even many physical ailments.
